Anti-Ragging Committee

Ragging, in any form and at any place, is a punishable offense and attracts severe consequences, including immediate dismissal from the college, institution, or university. This is in accordance with the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Ragging Act (Bill No. 8 of 1997), as notified in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary dated January 29, 1997.

An Anti-Ragging Committee has been constituted, and the contact numbers of all committee members are displayed on notice boards across the campus to ensure that students can lodge complaints easily and receive prompt action. Anti-ragging awareness messages are prominently displayed on the college website and at key locations within the campus.

Students may reach out to any member of the Anti-Ragging Committee at any hour, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. No incidents of ragging have been reported in the past four years. The institution proudly maintains a Ragging-Free Campus.

The Vice Principal serves as the Convener of the Institution's Anti-Ragging Committee. This committee ensures that ragging—an act contrary to human dignity and ethical values—is effectively prevented at all levels. At the beginning of every academic year, an Anti-Ragging Squad is formed to safeguard the interests of newly admitted students. Squad members are assigned routine and special monitoring duties in high-traffic areas of the campus, while the committee conducts surprise inspections in hostels and other vulnerable zones.

In addition to preventive measures within the campus, the committee organizes special awareness programmes, including expert lectures on student rights and legal frameworks, to educate students and reinforce a safe and respectful learning environment.

Important Notice:

Ragging is strictly prohibited in the campus. Any form of ragging will lead to immediate disciplinary action including expulsion from the college as per the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1997.
