About the Department

The Department of Master of Computer Applications at Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Engineering College was founded in the year of 2005. Since its inception, the department has relentlessly strived to enlighten the student community to be adroit and committed in the tasks they are headed with.One can find a friendly atmosphere that encourages excellence and fosters intellectual growth. To augment their knowledge, we arrange industrial visits, international conferences, national conferences, national seminars, workshops and short intensive courses.

VISION

To Contribute in the area of Computer Applications by developing innovative computing professionals to achieve excellent standards of quality education by keeping pace with rapidly changing technologies, with a promising future to bring a new level of inspiration among the students.

MISSION

To strive for excellence in development and deployment of computer applications and empower the students to play key role through the competency based educational and training programs that promote planned and sustainable growth of the society, state, country and the entire world with employable technical skills consistent with latest technological innovations.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVE

PEO1

To prepare students to excel in the computing profession by providing solid technical foundations in the field of computer applications.

PEO2

To provide students various computing skills like the analysis, design and development of innovative software products to meet the industry needs.

PEO3

To motivate students to pursue lifelong learning and to do research as computing professionals and scientists.

PROGRAM OUTCOME

PO1

Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO2

Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO3

Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO4

Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO5

Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
