About the Department

Established in the academic year 2005–2006, the Department of Mechanical Engineering has consistently evolved to meet the dynamic challenges of the industrial landscape. Since its inception, the department has grown into a premier center for technical education, offering a robust Undergraduate (UG) programme and a specialized Postgraduate (PG) programme in CAD/CAM. Driven by a mission to blend theoretical rigor with practical innovation, the department is supported by a team of highly qualified, research-oriented faculty members with expertise in Design, CAD/CAM, Manufacturing, Thermal, and Production Engineering.

The department’s commitment to academic excellence is reflected in its active research culture, with faculty members contributing high-quality publications to prestigious national and international journals and conferences. To facilitate industry-aligned learning, we have established state-of-the-art infrastructure, including Centre of Excellence in Design and Manufacturing, as well as advanced laboratories for Mechatronics, Thermal Engineering, Dynamics, and Metrology. These facilities provide students with a hands-on environment to master modern engineering tools and methodologies.

Beyond the classroom, the department fosters a vibrant professional ecosystem through the regular organization of national-level seminars, symposiums, workshops, and Faculty Development Programs (FDPs). These initiatives are designed to upskill researchers, faculty, and students alike. By maintaining strong industry connections and focusing on R&D, the Department of Mechanical Engineering continues to empower its graduates to become innovative leaders capable of addressing the complex demands of the modern global industry.
