The department of EEE organized one day program on "Fire and Safety" on 16th Aug 2012. The Head of the department Prof.S.Gobimohan, welcomed the gathering. Mr.K.Jayabal, Safety Master- Viswam Institute of Technology - Trichy enumerated various causes of fire accidents, stages and types of fire. The important causes which include careless handling of fire by men, oil leakage and electricity leakage were discussed in detail. He also suggested the various safety measures and precautions to be followed for avoiding fire accidents. The way of handling the fire accidents, self safety, saving the lives and material in accident were clearly explained by the experts. At the end of workshop, Mr.C.Krishnamoorthy, Demo master - Viswam Institute of Technology - Trichy, demonstrated a fire accident in the ground, and trained the participants to handle the different types of fire extinguishers during fire accidents. The workshop coordinator Mr.N.Vengadachalam, presented the vote of thanks.

The Head of the department Dr.K.Anbarasan welcomed the gathering. Trichy enumerated various causes of fire accidents, stages and types of fire. The important causes which include careless handling of fire by men, oil leakage and electricity leakage were discussed in detail. He also suggested the various safety measures and precautions to be followed for avoiding fire accidents. The way of handling the fire accidents, self safety, saving the lives and material in accident were clearly explained by the experts. Our department has organized one day International Workshop on "Emerging trends in Power System protection and Energy Management on 25.1.17.The inauguration function was started at 10.30am sharply , with a warm welcome address given by Ms.S.Jayanthi, Head of the Department (EEE).Our respected Chairman delivered the Presidential address and honoured the chief guest. Our honorable chief guest Dr.Akhtar Kalam presented an energetic and valuable speech to encourage our students for their betterment and future. He also delivered an excellent Seminar on the topic "Smart Power Grid in the 21st Century: A collaborative University-Industry Approach" .The students involved greatly involvement and at the end of the session students clarified their doubts through interaction. Afternoon session was started with the welcome address for Dr. N .Stalin, Associate Professor, BIT Campus, Trichy.He delivered a valuable speech on the topic "Energy Conservation Methods and Their Practical Application in Industry and House Hold and Hybrid Systems". The students and participants devoted in learning the practical Energy conservation methods and implementation of methods in utility applications. The valedictory function started at 4.00pm and the participants from various colleges gave their oral feedback regarding the function. Dr.T.Elango Principal, DSEC issued the certificates to all the participants. The function was ended with a vote of thanks by Mrs.K.Preetha, Associate Professor.

Workshop - Embedded system and Robotics
Our department has organized one day International Workshop on "Embedded system and Robotics" on 30.12.17.The inauguration function was started at 10.30am sharply , with a warm welcome address given by Dr.K.Anbarasan, Head of the Department (EEE).Our respected Chairman delivered the Presidential address and honoured the chief guest. Our honorable chief guest Dr.James M.conrad presented an energetic and valuable speech to encourage our students for their betterment and future.
